Guides will be present throughout the day to give information to visitors about the building, its history and the very fine stained glass windows, which display different aspects of mainly twentieth century styles.

Children are welcome to attend and can take part in 'Window Watching' a short activity created for them which will involve a search around the interior of the building. This year's festival has the theme of Heritage, History and Archaeology. A short talk at 2.30 will focus on the lives behind the names on the World War 1 Memorial, with particular reference to those who lost their lives in 1917, exactly 100 years ago. The talk also aims to reveal some aspects of the social history of the area.

Publications on the subject of World War 1 and of the War Memorial in the church, written by John Fulton and Judith Johnston will be available in return for voluntary donations. Any money raised will be given to the Erskine charity.

This should be a splendid day, remembering and honouring the past, enjoying and celebrating the present and looking to the future
